John Kajander is a strategic business and life science consultant with more than 40 years of business experience. 
His clients have included HoustonF1rst Corporation, the South Texas Regional Advisory Council
 the Methodist Health Ministries of San Antonio, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, the Houston Eating Disorders Center and others.  

During his career he has held executive positions at Texas Medical Center, the largest concentration of medical assets
in the world and was Chief Executive Officer at The Institute for Rehabilitation & Research Systems (TIRR Systems), a health care organization that provides
care to individuals with neurological and orthopedic injuries. Prior to joining TIRR Systems, Mr. Kajander was
Executive Director of the Houston Area Health Care Coalition (HAHCC) for three years, and was executive director of the
Texas Business Group on Health (TBGH), an "umbrella" organization of the 10 business coalitions in Texas, which represented
250 employers and six million covered lives. Management roles for a major petrochemical company and banking are also part of his background. 

He serves or has served on several boards throughout the Texas Gulf Coast, including Houston Achievement Place
 Child Development Center, Medical Advisory Board of Southwest Bancorporation of Texas, Inc. (now Amegy Bank)
and the technical advisory committee of the Texas Health Care Information Council for the state of Texas.
He was formerly on the boards of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Gulf Coast, National Business Coalition on Health
 and the Houston HealthCare Purchasing Organization.
Mr. Kajander is a Senior Fellow with the American Leadership Forum (ALF).  For more than 30 years
ALF has brought together over 1,100 Senior Fellows from Houston/Gulf Coast corporations, government, media, education, criminal justice

 medicine, nonprofits, philanthropy and religious sectors to envision effective solutions and take coordinated action to address the community’s pressing issues.
