Parag Soni is President of Western Power Project Advisors, a boutique consulting firm focused on the energy industry advising utilities, cities
and counties, technology companies, financial investors and corporations seeking to increase their sustainability footprint. With over 20 years in the energy sector, he has been involved in the privatization of the energy industry in the UK, helped California
through its energy crisis in 2001,and worked with Utilities, and City governments as they make the transition to renewable and distributed energy resources. In addition, to his work with utilities across the US, he has a 10-year history working in the
Texas energy markets with CPS Energy, a municipal utility serving the San Antonio community. He has served CPS Energy as their Senior energy advisor on their 400MW solar procurement, pilot projects for both community and distributed solar, also writing their
10-year strategic plan to focus on the disruptive forces confronting utilities across the US. Prior to his work in the energy sector, he has previously worked at the World Bank, Price Waterhouse in London, CS First Boston and Merrill Lynch specializing in
Corporate, Project and Public Finance. Parag Soni earned his Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley in 1991.
