Stewart has over 16 years of experience in the viral vector and vaccine production industry. Mike leads Matica Bio's technical functions including Process Engineering\, Process Development and Assay Development. Prior to joining Matica Bio\, Mike was the Director of Manufacturing for Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies\, a CDMO providing manufacturing services to clients for virus-based vaccines products.\n\n \n\nIn addition to his three years at Fujifilm\, Mike has worked for protein and virus organizations including Boehringer-Ingelheim Biomanufacturing\, Meridian LifeScience\, and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (SJCRH).\n\n \n\nPrior to his time in the industry\, Mike completed Ph.D. Biochemistry studies at the University of Tennessee and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital focusing on the structural and functional amino acid substitutions that result in an oncogenic state. Mike served as a Medical Corpsman with the U.S. Navy / Marine Corps researching gravitational induced (rapid and gradual onset) loss of consciousness under Major General J.E. Whinnery\, PhD\, M.D. (retd.). Mike received his BS and MS degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the Texas A&M University System.\n\n \n\nAbout Christopher Westerlund\n\nChristopher Westerlund is Head of Finance at Matica Biotech and is an executive with proven leadership in multiple public\, fortune 500\, private and private equity companies.\n\n \n\nHe has experience from strategic planning\, forecasting\, ROFO\, yearly plan\, 10+ years of FP&A management of $50M to $1.5 B. He has lead implementations\, process improvements including Lean Six Sigma and cross functional projects leadership\, as well as financial strategy\, profit improvement plans\, business cycle\, startup and business crisis management.
