About the roundtable
Our moderator Helene Honeybone will preside over the roundtable discussion, joined by panelists Lina Bakker (Lantmännen Aspen AB), Sean Herrity (US Trade Consult), Mats Shore (Business Sweden), and Eric Zinn (Göteborg Energi) — each bringing extensive experience in green transition and sustainability, specifically in relation to business and economic development. They will share insights on trends in technology, innovation, infrastructure investment, and business opportunities as organizations move toward a green future.

One main aim of this Nordic/Texas Initiative Roundtable is to challenge our assumptions and learn what Sweden and Texas can learn from each other. Sweden has long been known for caring about the environment and sustainability, using public policy and major investments to protect nature and develop new technologies — Gothenburg among the cities leading that work. Texas, meanwhile, is best known as a world leader in oil and gas, but 25% of its electricity grid already runs on renewable sources, and cities like Austin and Dallas have ambitious environmental goals tied to their booming economic development.

The organizers are Maureen McKelvey and Helene Honeybone. Maureen is Professor of Industrial Management, University of Gothenburg; Helene is an Entrepreneur and serves as Honorary Consul of Sweden in Dallas. Both are members of the SACC-Dallas Board.
