SACC-Dallas: Annual Crayfish Party

Join the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce Texas for our annual Kräftskiva, the beloved Swedish crayfish party! Gather with fellow Nordic enthusiasts, business professionals, and friends for an evening of tradition, great food, and even better company.

What to expect: Dive into a classic Swedish tradition featuring freshly boiled crayfish, seasonal sides, snaps, and singing. Whether you're a crayfish party veteran or experiencing your first Kräftskiva, this is a night you won't want to miss. New to the tradition? A crayfish party, or kräftskiva, is a much-loved Nordic summer celebration built around good food, drink, and song.

The custom dates back to the 20th century, when crayfish harvesting was legally restricted to late summer, turning the season's first catch into an excuse for a proper party. Open to members and non-members alike; bring a friend and introduce them to the best of Swedish culture in Texas.

As tradition has it, there will be singing and schnapps, "Nubbe," please plan to drive responsibly.
